The Alaska Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Division of Mining, Land and Water (DMLW) held a meeting this afternoon in Anchorage about the Revision of Hatcher Pass Management Plan. The plan covers both the East and West sides of Hatcher Pass (Miles 8 to 37, Hatcher Pass Road), and may include additional areas of state land to reflect new use patterns. The link above takes you to the DNR page on this plan, and explains what it is all about, including that the plan may include changes to state regulations governing the Generally Allowed Uses on state land (11 AAC 96.014).
General public meetings will occur in both Wasilla and Anchorage in late April and early May 2009, but they have not yet been scheduled. I will provide information on these meetings when they are scheduled, or encourage any other ATV enthusiasts to submit information on the meetings via the \'contribute\' link at the top of this page.
See the Revision of Hatcher Pass Management Plan page for information on how to submit your opinions on this important issue.
